The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.The journey of Girls’ wing of 55 NCC cadets started in 2014, which extended to 65 cadets in 2019 by 20 UP Girls BN NCC and Boys' wing of 80 NCC cadets started in 2020 by 63 UP BN NCC. A full platoon of girl cadets has been set up who have recently received their 'B' and 'C' certificates. Commendably, many girl cadets have shown exemplary talent & won accolades for their platoon as well as for the University.
