Overview

To meet out the current demand of qualified Architects and Interior Designers for the population of the country to create the better and sustainable built environment, SHRI RAMSWAROOP MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY, under the visionary guidance of Honorable Chancellor Sri Pankaj Agarwal (Gold medallist from IIT, Kanpur) started “Institute of Architecture and Planning (IAP)” - in 2017 and one of the most dynamic and important part of Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University. IAP offers B.Arch, duly approved by Council of Architecture, B.ID and Dip. In Architecture courses (both in 2019).

The institute aims in producing future architects and Interior Designers who are able to handle real life situations in a better and effective way. This is achieved by creating a value proposition based on practical knowledge and skills imparted by professional architects in addition to providing access to latest technology. Indian culture and international exposure, both will be given to make them understand the rich structural base of our country and the current global expertise, a blend of both will make them professionals of international competence.

IAP’S endeavours to strengthen the professional development of the faculty members as they directly deal with students. Our aim is to assist and support these educators to increase the effectiveness of their teaching, so that they can better guide students on their journey of inquiry and discovery.

Professional Development Programmes, Orientation Programmes, Dialogues Series, Industry Guest Lectures, Workshops and Conferences are organized for the comprehensive development of our faculty to sharpen their knowledge, and to establish link with their academic and industry peers. This will also enhance their pedagogical approach as well.

Besides this “IAP” also encourages its faculties to participate in Sports activities and Annual Sport’s Meet. They are engaged in different committees like Entrepreneurship Cell, Exhibition Committee, Cultural Committee and many more.

The Institute of Architecture and Planning believes in the principle of

‘Guru Kumhar, Shishya Kumbh hai, gadi gadi kadhe khot, andar hath sahaer de ,bahar bahe chot’ Inspiring the worldly creatures towards the sunrise, Shiromani Kabirdasji says- Guru is a potter and a disciple is like a clay pot. Just as to make the pit beautiful, put his hand inside and beats it from outside, similarly by keeping the disciple in a strict discipline, by keeping the feeling of love from within, removing the evil of the disciple and makes him honourable in the world. Thereby, to inspire, involve and transform the student for achieving theoretical as well as practical knowledge. Observation, perception and visualization are the core tools to cultivate young minds towards imagination and creativity.
