The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an internationally recognized two-year post graduate degree, designed to develop the skills required for careers in business and management. SRMU offers MBA in CBCS Pattern which provides autonomy to the students to select courses of their choice, take additional courses, obtain more than the required credits, and adopt interdisciplinary approach to learning. MBA in SRMU focuses on application-based learning with emphasis to prepare students into competent and effective managers and responsible citizens. The broad objective of the MBA course is to introduce career and market-oriented, skill enhancing value - additions that have utility for job, self-employment and empowerment of the students. It is designed to cultivate the leadership and the decision making skills necessary to tackle the challenges of today's global businesses. In second year, students are provided with specialization choices in Human Resource, Marketing, Finance, International Business, Operations Management and Entrepreneurship & Family Business Management. It also offers various choices of open electives and value added courses which aims at providing interdisciplinary learning to the students as well as opportunity for earning additional credits. The program envisions effective innovative teaching and learning methods such as projects, classroom discussions, practical training through Summer Internship, case studies, business plans, presentations, industrial visits and fieldwork.

Programme Objectives (PO)

The objectives of MBA Programme are:

  • PO1: To remember the conceptual knowledge with an integrated approach to various functions of management.
  • PO2: To develop effective communication and presentation skills required to become a successful business professional.
  • PO3: To analyze and apply research and analytical skills in business decision making.
  • PO4: To demonstrate the skills of organizing, planning, controlling, team-building and leadership in the challenging business environment.
  • PO5: To apply the various concepts, theories and models in the area of HR, Marketing, Finance, IT, Operations and IB professional.
  • PO6: To devise the ethical values and business ethics required for being socially responsible and environmental sensitive professional in business.

The expected outcomes after completing the program would be:

  • PLO1: Management knowledge: Apply the knowledge of basic concepts and theories of management to solve business problems.

  • PLO10: Area Specific Expertise: Apply various concepts, models etc. in the functional areas of business like Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, International Business, and Information Technology in the organization as per area of interest.
  • PLO11: Cross-Disciplinary Integration and Strategic Perspective: Conceptualize, organize and resolve complex business problems by using the limited resources available.
  • PLO12: Legal Knowledge: Obtain legal knowledge of various business operations for effective decision-making.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO):

  • PSO1: Acquire Practical learning opportunity through summer internship, industrial visit and research projects.
  • PSO2: Apply in-depth knowledge in their core elective area of specialization like Finance, Human Recourse, Marketing, International Business, Operations Management and Information Technology to solve the business world complexities.
  • PSO3: Understand and develop the new dimensions of knowledge through open elective and value added courses to cater the need of the industry.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must have passed Graduation or equivalent system in any discipline from any recognised University or AICTE recognised Institute/College with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or CGPA of 5.5 for Gen/OBC category and 45% marks or CGPA of 5.0 for SC/ST Category.
