Overview
Diploma in Civil Engineering - (Lateral Entry) deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams and buildings. During the study, the students is exposed to various subjects of Civil Engineering such as planning, drafting (both manual and computer-aided), surveying, estimation and costing, construction technology, basics of highway, railway, bridge, airport, tunnel and harbor engineering. The course also offers adequate exposure to reinforced concrete structures, quality control, material testing, construction management and entrepreneurship, professional practice. Students also get a feel for an extensive survey, building drawing, irrigation & bridge drawing and structural drawing. Students are also exposed to software like AutoCAD.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have passed 12th or equivalent system from any recognized Central/State Board with minimum aggregate marks of 35% along with Maths, Physics and English as compulsory subjects.
Or
Candidate must have passed 10th with ITI (Minimum 2 years' duration) from any institutions recognized by State Government in relevant engineering subjects with minimum aggregate marks of 60% or Intermediate Science with Vocational/Technical subjects.
