Overview

The Institute of Natural Sciences and Humanities (INSH) in Shri Ram Swaroop Memorial University (SRMU), Uttar Pradesh is one of the leading teaching and research institutes in the country. The Institute offers course Master in Public Health (MPH). The course aims at orienting students with theoretical principles and practical dimensions of public health. The course deliberates on escalating importance of public health from local to global level.

Public Health is an interdisciplinary programme in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and focuses on training human resources in the field of public health, with a strong understanding of the determinants of health and the public health system in India. The course contains the community context and global scenario of public health system, policy and management in developing countries; epidemiology research methodology, biostatistics and computer application in health research social demography and population control; gender, aging and society, financial management and budgeting; communication in healthcare; RMNCH+A; integration of AYUSH with public health and ethics and legislations in public health. It includes the specialization in Epidemiology; Program Policy and Planning; Health Administration and Communication; and Sanitation and Waste Management with concurrent field work.

Eligibility Criteria

All the graduates are eligible to get admission in MPH programme as per results of their aptitude test conducted by the university.

However preference will be given to the graduates in:

  • Medicine / AYUSH / Dentistry / Veterinary Sciences /Allied and Health Sciences / Life Sciences
  • Statistics / Biostatistics / Demography / Population Studies/ Nutrition / Sociology / Psychology /Anthropology / Social Work.
  • Course will also be open for other graduates with exposure and experience of work in the field of public health.
