Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) is a full time four-year undergraduate degree course in the field of Computer Science & Engineering. The course curriculum of B.Tech in CSE (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) is designed at par in collaboration with International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). This program has been developed by the experts of IBM and university researchers, keeping in mind the need of competitive skills by the industry in future. It aims at developing skilled young professionals aiming for futuristic jobs and handsome remuneration, by the technology leader IBM. The teaching pedagogies ignite critical thinking, reasoning and the ability to learn and adapt to radical changes in computer technologies. After B.Tech in CSE (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence), young graduates are ready for employment, higher studies, entrepreneurship and start-ups. Thus, there is a scope in developing machines in gaming, speech recognition, expert systems, robotics and many more.

Program Objectives (PO):

  • PEO1: To impart deep technical knowledge about the field of computer science and engineering.
  • PEO2: To develop an understanding of computer science and engineering at different levels of abstraction, including computer architecture and design, operating systems, database management, algorithms and applications.
  • PEO3: To develop in students a strong foundation in the field of Mathematical and basics of engineering fundamentals, necessary to analyze and evaluate real world engineering problems related to Data science and Artificial Intelligence and to further prepare them for higher studies, R&D.
  • PEO4: To develop life-long learning attitude among students and to make them aware about professional and social responsibility.
  • PEO5: To inculcate an understanding among the students for utilizing their knowledge of computer engineering and mathematical theory to solve current and future computing problems.
  • PEO6: To inspire leadership and professional values in the students.

Programme Learning Outcomes

The students of Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering(Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) will be able to:

  • Apply possessed knowledge of core subjects of production and industrial engineering to solve different problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change

Programme Specific Outcomes

The students upon completion of Programme will be able:

  • PSO1: Understand and develop computer programs in the areas related to algorithms, system software, multimedia, web design, big data analytics and networking by identifying, demonstrating and analyzing the knowledge of engineering in efficient design of computer-based systems of varying complexity.
  • PSO2: Applying algorithmic principles, innovative Computer science and engineering design and implementation skills to propose optimal solutions to complex problems by choosing a better platform for research in AI and data science.
  • PSO3: Identify standard Software Engineering practices and strategies by applying software project development methods using open-source programming environment to design and evaluate a quality product for business success.
  • PSO4: Demonstrate and examine basic understanding of engineering fundamentals, professional/social ethics and apply mathematical foundations to design and solve computational problems.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent system from any recognized Central/ State Board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Computer Science/Technical Vocational Subject.
  • Candidate must have obtained minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade for GEN/OBC and 40% marks or equivalent grade for SC/ST Category in the above subjects taken together.
