B.Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering)

B.Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering) is a 04 years full time undergraduate programme designed to teach the concept, design and functioning of modern Electronic devices and Communication systems. To train students to become an Electronics & Communication Engineer with a logical mindset, moral and ethical values to work in local and global Electronics & Communication Industry. To make them technically sound so that they may be selected in competitive exams as well as pursue higher studies.

Programme Objectives (PO) :

  • PO1: To provide quality education in engineering and technology.
  • PO2: To produce efficient, innovative and imaginative engineers.
  • PO3: To make a significant contribution towards the development of skilled technical manpower to cater the needs of our society.
  • PO4: To create an intellectual reservoir to meet the growing demands of the nation.
  • PO5: To inculcate in the student concepts and intellectual skills, courage and integrity, awareness of and sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of the society.

Programme Learning Outcomes :

  • PLO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specializations to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PLO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • PLO3: Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal and environmental considerations.
  • PLO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PLO5: Modern tool usage: Create,, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resource, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PLO6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PLO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • PLO8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • PLO9: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings
  • PLO10:Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineer community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentation, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PLO11:Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member.
  • PLO12:Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life- long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Programme Specific Outcomes :

  • PSO1: To develop ability to understand the basic concepts in Electronics & Communication Engineering and to apply them to solve complex Electronics and communication engineering problems, using latest hardware and software tools, along with analytical skills to arrive cost effective and appropriate solutions.
  • PSO2: To practically train them to work in real life situation.
  • PSO3: Student is trained to become an Electronics & Communication Engineer with a logical mindset, moral and ethical values to work in local and global Electronics & Communication Industry.
  • PSO4: The basic and advanced knowledge attained by student will also make him/her enable to get selected in competitive exams as well as pursue higher studies.

Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent system from any recognized Central/ State Board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongwith one of the Chemistry/Computer Science/Technical Vocational Subject. Candidate must obtained minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade for GEN/OBC and 40% marks or equivalent grade for SC/ST Category in the above subjects taken together.
