Program Objectives (PO):
The program has following objectives:
- PO1: To impart education and train graduate engineers in the field of power electronics & Drives to
meet the emerging needs of society.
- PO2: To study design, analysis and control of power electronic circuits for variable frequency
drives application.
- PO3: To understand and design power electronic and drive systems for different application.
- PO4: To facilitate graduates in research activities leading to innovative solutions in interfacing of
power electronic controllers with renewable energy sources.
- PO5: To analyze and design switch mode regulators/Power Converters for various industry
applications.
Program Learning Outcome (PLO) :
The program has following outcomes:
- PLO1: Will be able to apply the knowledge of science and mathematics in designing, analyzing and
using the power converters and drives for various applications that meet specific needs.
- PLO2: To enable students to develop, construct, operate and test power electronic converters and
machine in the laboratory.
- PLO3: Students will understand current and emerging issues to analyze and evaluate the merits and
disadvantages of large power electronic systems.
- PLO4: To enable students to design, analyze, model, build and test the operation of drives in a lab
environment.
- PLO5: Detailed understanding of the operation, function and interaction between various
components and sub-systems used in power electronic converters, electric machines and
adjustable-speed drives.
Program Specific Outcome (PSO) :
The program has following Specific outcomes:
- PSO1: Will be able to apply the knowledge of science and and designing in analyzing the power
converters and drives for various applications that meet specific needs in providing good
quality power to consumers.
- PSO2: To enable students to develop, construct, operate and test power electronic converters and
machine in the laboratory. It will build the technical skills, communication skills and ethical
skills.
- PSO3: Detailed understanding of the operation, function and interaction between various
components and sub-systems used in power electronic converters, electric machines and
adjustable-speed drives. It will also make up the mind of student to run their own small
industry and develop their entreprenurship skills.
- PSO4: Students will understand current and emerging issues to analyze and evaluate the merits
and demerits of power electronic systems. It will develop their research skill and helps in
overall development of nation worldwide.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have passed B. Tech from any recognised University or AICTE recognised Institute/College with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or 5.5 CGPA for GEN/OBC and 45% marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST Category. Candidate will be offered admission in M. Tech. only in that stream of Engineering in which he has obtained B. Tech.
For M. Tech (Environmental Engg), candidates must have passed B. Tech (any stream) from any recognised University or AICTE recognised Institute/College with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or 5.5 CGPA for GEN/OBC and 45% marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST Category or M.Sc. (any stream) with 45% marks or 5.0 CGPA for GEN/OBC and 40% marks or 4.5 CGPA for SC/ST Category.
For M. Tech (CS), candidates must have passed MCA/M.Sc.(CS)/MA(CA)/ M.Sc.(IT)/M.Sc. (Electronics)/B. Tech (EC) from any recognised University or AICTE recognised Institute/College with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or 5.5 CGPA for GEN/OBC and 45% marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST Category.
For M. Tech (EC), candidates must have passed M.Sc. (Electronics) from any recognised University or AICTE recognised Institute/College with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or 5.5 CGPA for GEN/OBC and 45% marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST Category.
In addition to the above mentioned basic M. Tech (Regular) eligibility, candidates must have at least 2 years Teaching/Industrial/Research/Professional Work Experience for 3 years M. Tech (Part Time) in CE, ME, CS, EC & EE.
