In a landmark step toward bridging industry and academia, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University (SRMU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors Ltd., Lucknow Plant, to launch a 3-year Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering, approved by AICTE and UGC, under the innovative Kaushalya Program. This "Earn and Learn" model aims to equip Tata Motors’ Kaushalya trainees with high-demand technical skills and real-world industry exposure. The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Tata Motors Ltd. Lucknow campus on May 15, 2025, and was attended by senior officials from both institutions.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Mishra, Vice Chancellor, SRMU, along with Prof. (Dr.) Neerja Jindal, Registrar, and Mr. S.K. Singh, Director, SRMU Polytechnic. Tata Motors Ltd. was represented by senior leadership including Mr. Sitaram Kandi, CHRO, Mr. Marcel Fernandes, GM – Corporate Skill Development, Mr. Deepak Kumar, Plant Head, and other distinguished team members. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mishra highlighted that this collaboration exemplifies SRMU’s commitment to aligning education with emerging industry needs. The program will combine rigorous classroom learning, hands-on technical training, and industry-relevant projects to develop professionals ready for the rapidly evolving automotive sector. Echoing this vision, Chancellor Er. Pankaj Agarwal emphasized the importance of creating an industry-ready workforce, while Pro-Chancellor Er. Pooja Agarwal underscored the university’s dedication to empowering youth with education, skill, and opportunity.
