To provide modern education and training in the field of cost accounting and financial management, a new study centre of ICMAI, Lucknow Chapter, was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University (SRMU) campus. This initiative is a joint collaboration between SRMU, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management (SRMCEM), and ICMAI. The inauguration ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Sheel Mittal, Director (Finance) of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, and Rohit Kumar, Chief Financial Officer of Apollo Medics Super Specialty Hospital, Lucknow. The event, held in the presence of ICMAI Coordinator Dr. CMA Nancy Gupta, began with a warm welcome by Dr. Veena Singh, Head of the Department of Commerce and Economics.
Chancellor Engineer Pankaj Agarwal addressed the attendees, stating that this initiative, in collaboration with SRMU and SRMCEM, will add a new chapter in the field of education and professional development. He emphasized that the goal is to provide students with education that not only makes them technically proficient but also prepares them for global challenges. This study centre will lay a strong foundation in cost accounting. In line with this vision, Pro-Chancellor Engineer Pooja Agarwal highlighted that the initiative is a crucial step toward equipping students with the latest knowledge and skills in cost accounting and financial management. She expressed confidence that this study centre would nurture new talent and further enhance the institution’s academic reputation. Vice-Chancellor Vikas Mishra emphasized that the objective is to provide students with education that fosters self-reliance and meets industry demands. He extended gratitude to all collaborators and wished for the successful operation of the centre.
As a chief guest, Sheel Mittal, Director (Finance) of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, emphasized the importance of financial management, strategic planning, and cost optimization. He noted that this study centre will equip students with skills in these areas, paving the way for their future success. He commended the initiative and hoped that graduates from this centre would contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth. Rohit Kumar, CFO of Apollo Medics Super Specialty Hospital, Lucknow, expressed his privilege to be part of the event, stating that collaboration with SRMU and SRMCEM is a crucial step toward fostering innovation in education and the healthcare sector. As a financial leader, he recognized the significance of financial efficiency, resource optimization, and sustainable development in the healthcare sector. He affirmed that this study centre would not only strengthen students’ careers but also benefit society at large. ICMAI Lucknow Chapter Chairman, CMA Amit Yadav, expressed pride in offering students a platform to gain expertise in crucial fields such as financial management and cost optimization. He emphasized that the study centre would enhance academic growth and meet industry requirements.
