Microbiology is the study of a variety of living organisms which are invisible to the naked eye like bacteria and fungi and many other microscopic organisms.

The three-year B.Sc. program in Microbiology provides students with extensive knowledge across several fields of microbiology, catering to the needs of both academics and industry. Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent system from any recognized Central/ State Board with Physics and Mathematics/ Biology as compulsory subject alongwith Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science with minimum aggregate marks of 45% or equivalent grade for GEN/OBC and 40% marks or equivalent grade for SC/ST Category.

Program Objectives

The programme has been designed in such a way so that the students get exposed to strongtheoretical and practical background on various domains of Microbiology.
The programme includes details of important microorganisms of agricultural, medical andindustrial importance, biomolecules, tools and techniques, enzymes, immunology, cell biology,molecular biology genetic engineering to make the study of microbiology for sustainabledevelopment of human society.
The practical courses have been designed to equip the students with the laboratory skills inmicrobiology. Students will be able to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze andinterpret scientific data.
The programme will provide students with the knowledge and skill base that would enable themto undertake further studies in microbiology and related areas or in multidisciplinary areas thatinvolve microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology and molecular biology and help develop arange of generic skills that are relevant in enhancing entrepreneurship skills among students.
