To equip students with a comprehensive and in depth learning of the subject matter of Political Science.

To enable the student to be well versed with contemporary trends in politics and public policy as well as possess a nuanced understanding of how political concepts, institutions and governments have evolved by introducing them to thinkers and discourses from ancient, medieval and modern times – both in Western and South Asian politics.

To enable them build a value-based competent personality so that they can influence the well-being of their own self and the society at large.

To help them observe, understand, interpret and analyses everyday rising societal complications to contribute with a wise solution to our society and nation.

Students will be trained to develop a proper understanding and sound thinking of different political ideologies.

Students will portray practical approach towards the Indian Constitution, will have awareness about major concepts like rights, duties, their correlation, role of judiciary etc.

Students will develop a theoretical and practical approach towards the politics of India and will have awareness about the changing dynamics of Indian politics.

Students will be able to develop a proper understanding and implications of the changing nature of International Relations as well as the challenges faced by the country in contemporary scenario.

The subject courses have been designed to introduce key concepts in politics to the students to sharpen their understanding of political discourses and the ability to make the scientific enquiry into the political phenomenon and political questions.

This course is designed to develop a sound understanding of Political Science with the different meaning of politics and how is it interpreted differently by people holding different ideological positions.

Objectives are to enable the students to understand the functioning of governments and political systems in comparative perspectives. And also familiarize the students with the key elements of Indian constitution and enable them to critically assess the working of government institutions in the broader framework of constitutionality and factors and forces which attempts to influence them.

To acquaint the students to the solution finding process regarding political, social, ethical, cultural problems in the field and support the development of these values.

To make sure the students to conceive the interdisciplinary interaction which the field is related with and come up with original solutions. To enable students to understand and critically analyze the phenomenon of globalization which entails interconnectivity and transportation of local with the global and vice versa.

The objective is to provide students a solid grounding in Indian politics where they study the extra-constitutional institutions, factors, and forces which influence the political discourses and decisions in the country.
