Institute of Legal Studies approved by the Bar Council of India, is one of the premier institution for pursuing a legal career. It is focused to produce litigation specialists, corporate lawyers, mediation & arbitration experts, and professionals to draft legal instrument, policy makers, researchers and academicians, diplomats, comparative law experts for burgeoning LPO, Industry and others to meet the diverse requirement of legal human resource.The brilliant young minds at the Institute are nurtured under the tutelage of a world-class faculty that demands innovative thought and has been able to initiate an interdisciplinary approach to all topics of study. Dean Profile

Prof. (Dr.) Rohit P Shabran
Prof. (Dr.) Rohit P Shabran has more than 21 years of experience in the teaching and administrative field. He secured Gold Medal in LL.B. from K.S.S. P.G. College, Ayodhya (Dr. RML Awadh University) and LL.M. in Criminal Law from the University of Lucknow. He was awarded the doctorate degree (LL.D.) in 2008 from the University of Lucknow, Lucknow with specialization in Administration of Criminal Justice System. Prof. Rohit had attended and paper presented more than 75 National and International Conferences/Seminars, in addition to academic work 30 Articles, 10 Chapters in different Edited Books, Six Ph.D. have been successfully awarded and Eight are pursuing under his supervision.
More than 100 LLM students are completed his/her dissertation under his supervision. He has Four books publications to his credit. ‘Flame of cybercrimes on social media a burning issue’, ‘Contemporary Legal Issues in India’ and a book on Consumer Attitude and Perception Towards Online Transactions and latest book is, Challenging Legal Issues in India are few of his notable works. He had organized many national and international conferences. Prof. Rohit has delivered 16 lectures in different law institutes. Earlier, he has been associated as Head/Dean with esteemed Universities/ institutes like Babu Banarasi Das University, Lucknow and Rama University, Kanpur. He is a philanthropist and is actively associated with various non-governmental organizations. He is an optimist at core and aspires to take the Institute of Legal Studies to greater heights.

Departmental events
Institute of legal studies have integrated program . it comprises teachers of law ,management , commerce and humanities. It also participate in all events and conduct fun day too.

Events and Sports
In SRMU several club established for the holistic development of students. There are 14 clubs including sports club too. Student and teachers too take participation in the events.

Moot Court
The classes of Institute of Legal Studies are conducted in B4 building. Along with the Directors office at the IInd floor of there is a departmental library and a Well-furnished and well equipped Moot Court. There are around 20 class rooms (Computer room and Presentation room) in which the classes are conducted.

USP’s
The Institute has a very rich departmental library with various reputed off line and online journals. It has good legal database like Manupatra etc. the Institute has a very beautiful and well-furnished moot court hall. The faculty member of the Institute are well qualified and most of them are aluminizes of NLU and previously taught in NLU.

The institute of legal studies conduct at least 12 expert talk and invited guest lecture for better understanding of its student by legal experts from various prominent universities and judges and advocates in each semester.
