The aim of this undergraduate B.A. (Hons.) Sociology is to acquaint students with the sociological perspectives, concepts, theories and varied approaches of social change and social problem, while equipping them with the critical skills through creative writing, statistics, research methods, report writing and field work. SRMU is ranked as the best B.A. (Hons.) Sociology College in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh where students will also be asked to choose a paper of specialization in Sociology of Education, Rural Sociology, Industrial Sociology and Sociology of Development.
The Faculty of Sociology at SRMU shares a rich teaching and research experience with expertise in various domains of Sociological understanding. The program examines numerous facets of social behaviour and how it affects contemporary society. Sociology is a field of study that looks into various facets of society and social interaction. A bachelor's degree in sociology teaches the basic ideas about how society is organised and structured, as well as how people interact within these frameworks. The core subject matter of sociology is concerned with issues such as family structure, international conflict, religious cults, socioeconomic class, race, and gender, among other things. With the help of this program, one can comprehend fundamental principles as well as modern advancements in sociological theory and investigation. Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent system from any recognized Central/State Board in any stream with minimum aggregate marks of 45% or equivalent grade for Gen/OBC and 40% marks or equivalent grade for SC/ST Category.
