Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University (SRMU) organized a two-day “Kisan Mela 2025” under the theme Advanced Agriculture – Advanced India, bringing together farmers, agricultural scientists, and leading institutions. The event was inaugurated by Chancellor Er. Pankaj Agarwal and Pro-Chancellor Er. Pooja Agarwal, both IIT Kanpur Gold Medalists, along with senior university officials and experts from across the state. Farmers explored stalls showcasing organic products, improved seeds, and sustainable farming practices while gaining insights from specialists through technical sessions.
Throughout the Kisan Mela, experts delivered practical guidance on soil health management, animal husbandry, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, and modern irrigation methods. Representatives from renowned organizations such as ICAR-CISH, ICAR-IISR, and CSIR-CIMAP shared valuable research and innovative agricultural solutions. The sessions emphasized climate-resilient farming, water conservation, improved crop varieties, and the use of technology like AI, IoT, and blockchain in agriculture.
The closing ceremony featured prize distribution across industry, FPO/NGO, and SRMU categories, recognizing excellence in agricultural innovation. Hundreds of farmers actively participated, benefitting from demonstrations, expert talks, and interactions. The Kisan Mela successfully served as a dynamic platform connecting farmers with advanced agricultural knowledge, emerging technologies, and sustainable practices aimed at enhancing productivity and strengthening rural livelihoods.
